I have dealt with many of these things by making use of them. Nowadays in science, you have to expand constantly to avoid becom- ing stagnant, which I have tried to do. What are two key behaviors/personality traits that allow you to be effective in your role? Well, I am curious with broad interests, and am inherently creative. What is the most important issue/challenge you are dealing with in your industry right now? It is hard topredict the future. There will probably be new mathematical methods that are relevant, and new biochemical techniques, and new techniques using isotope chemistry. Also, biomechanical approaches — a whole variety of things may develop. One just never knows. We are seeing advances, but there will be unpredictable ones as time goes on.
