Some additional highlights of Mr. Aronson’s career include helping to manage the weekend and evening schedules for his fellow pharmacists, the commendation he received for working during a blizzard in 1978, being elected as a union shop steward to represent the pharmacy department at both Boston City Hospital and Boston Medical Center, and preventing an attempted armed robbery of narcotics from the pharmacy at the Boston City Hospital. How have you navigated disruptions in your industry to remain a top professional? I did not let them stop me. I just remained focused on what I was doing. I did not let it bother me — I just continued on with the job. I am a good listener and I wanted to make sure I got the job done correctly the first time. Trying to keep up with all the brand-new drugs and medicines that have been put on the market, as well as their indications for use and what they are used for. What innovations or technologies do you feel will shape the future of your industry? Having pharmacists more involved with other medical professionals and patients on a one-to-one basis and being able to follow a patient’s medical history better. What excites you the most about your industry? Being able to take care of veterans in a timely matter.
