In the past, customers would trust insurance agents, but now, with so many cases of insurance fraud, they expect agents to inflate or exaggerate costs. It doesn’t matter when or how — you have to do things right. How do you feel your industry has changed/evolved? I think that it’s getting better. People know who is going to do a decent job, and they are willing to hire and pay their employees. I never thought that money was the biggest challenge. I felt that doing the job and the results of it were the important thing. What innovations or technologies do you feel will shape the future of your industry? It’s going to be important to have better specifications and be more candid and open instead of keeping things secret. I think openness is important. I’m not too rigid, and I work with others in a friendly and professional manner. How do you feel your industry has changed/evolved? I feel like we are more effective and efficient now. We’re more efficient in removing junk mail, doing troubleshooting, and researching where mail should be sent and getting it there as soon as possible. What excites you the most about your industry? I feel like I can go home every day and know that I made a difference for somebody out there; I know I am part of the bigger picture. I have contact with the public and I’m able to help them and show them where they need to go. I take pride in helping people like that.
