20 Sixth Edition Marquis Who’s Who INSIGHT RONALD E. BERENBEIM Senior Fellow, Business Writer The Conference Board Inc. New York, NY https://www.24-7pressrelease. com/press-release/490695/ How have you navigated disruptions in your industry to remain a top professional? The pandemic has radically changed the product mix. Virtual meetings are no match for live counterparts. We must make the virtual meeting as good as possible because it’s here to stay. How do you feel your industry has changed/evolved? The curriculum balance is shifting from an emphasis on management skills to environmental, health and migration issues — now critical for successful management careers. What innovations or technologies do you feel will shape the future of your industry? Health is a priority for businesses and consumers, but much current information is unreliable. It is of vital importance that organization leaders develop rigorous methods for the selection, dissemination and application of health expertise. CYNTHIA BLODGETT-GRIFFIN, PHD Online Graduate Distance Education Professor, Course Designer Blodgett Learning Systems Lincoln, NE https://www.cynthiablodgett-griffin.com/ How have you navigated disruptions in your industry to remain a top professional? I try to be flexible, and I am gentle with my expectations for myself. I am attentive to my own needs, which may sound greedy, but it’s not — if I don’t take care of myself, I can’t be present for my students. What are two key behaviors/personality traits that allow you to be effective in your role? I have empathy for my students, and I listen to others. There is a Community of Inquiry theory I follow that talks about teacher, social and cognitive presence. I like to maintain a strong teacher presence and remain present for my students. What excites you the most about your industry? There is a lot of rapid change going on since we keep adding technology to an already technological mode of education. So, I’m helping the students navigate the new, open-digital aspect of their education. PETER W. CURRERI, MD Health Facility Administrator (Retired) Strategem of Alabama Inc. Spanish Fort, AL www.24-7pressrelease.com/ press-release/481541 How do you feel your industry has changed/evolved? I started at The University of Texas at San Antonio as an assistant professor and later went to the University of Washington in Seattle as an associate professor and Cornell University as a full professor. I think what changed over that period of time was the lack of interest in research. People tended to concentrate more on clinical teaching, probably because of the increased demand for clinical work as departments grew. What excites you the most about your industry? I enjoyed teaching medical students and residents and working with my colleagues in research and clinical services. I also enjoyed segmenting a department of surgery into eight divisions and building them into independent entities.
