26 Sixth Edition Marquis Who’s Who INSIGHT DULCE M. SUAREZ-RESNICK VP of Sales & Marketing Acentria Insurance Miami, FL marquismillennium.com/5thEd/ Suarez-Resnick/193/ What are two key behaviors/personality traits that a low you to be effective in your role? My desire to help others and my nature as a teacher. I have consultative talks with my customers, so we can understand their needs and the products they buy. What is the most important issue/ challenge you are dealing with in your industry? The challenge right now – primarily in Florida – is market availability and affordability. How do you feel your industry has changed/evolved? In the past, customers would trust insurance agents, but now, with so many cases of insurance fraud, they expect agents to inflate or exaggerate costs. Honest agents are paying for the wrongful actions of others, which is frustrating. KRZYSZTOF “KRIS” JAN WOJCIECHOWSKI International Consultant on Animal Health Warszawa, Poland marquismillennium.com/10th_Ed/ Wojciechowski/214 How have you navigated disruptions in your industry to remain a top professional? I joined the very prestigious Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in the early stage of my career. It was my first job, and they put me on the right track. I was recruited in 1977 while I was in Poland by Professor Ozawa, who was the top global scientist on animal viruses. I was accepted quickly because I adapted very well. What innovations or technologies do you feel will shape the future of your industry? As I have been building my reputation as a virologist, I’ve found that the key issue is quality control. The world is littered with waste products of below-standard quality, and our task is to bring this to an acceptable level for developed countries. DR. MICHAEL WIESCHER Freimann Professor of Physics University of Notre Dame South Bend, IN https://physics.nd.edu/people/ faculty/michael-wiescher/ What are two key behaviors/personality traits that allow you to be effective in your role? Maintaining good and friendly connections and controlling moments of wrath, even if faced with incompetence and bureaucracy – the latter is a challenge for me. What innovations or technologies do you feel will shape the future of your industry? Massive equipment investments rather than scientific thought will have a damaging but unavoidable impact on the flexibility of the field. Some of that will be replaced by computer simulation techniques. What excites you the most about your industry? The opportunity to develop new ideas, flexibility in technical approaches, the possibility to work on the limits of the impossible, and the exploration of the limits of the unknown.
