Staying focused, calm, cool and collected, and trying to resolve problems rather than create them. What are two key behaviors/personality traits that allow you to be effective in your role? I always stay focused, and I’m not afraid of hard work. I never take no for an answer and keep doing what I love. My work is my passion. What is the most important issue/challenge you are dealing with in your industry? The challenge right now is the labor shortage. After the pandemic, I think a lot of people forgot the concept of going back to work, and they no longer wish to work eight hours a day — they come in late with their own principles and how many hours they should be working. Employees want us to comply with them instead of them complying with the employer. How do you feel your industry has changed/evolved? Technology has made our industry change a lot. We now have remote meetings, trials and testifying depositions. Before the pandemic, we would go knock on people’s doors, and they would be receptive to speaking to us. After the pandemic, they fear answering the door and speaking to us. The work has become more difficult. What innovations or technologies do you feel will shape the future of your industry? Automation would be a great help on assignments. Artificial intelligence might be a very interesting technology that we could utilize. What excites you the most about your industry? Putting the puzzles together and finding out what happened in the cases of my clients. Then, I find out how those events could have been prevented and how to prevent them from happening in the future.
