24 Seventh Edition Marquis Who’s Who INSIGHT RALPH T. RUSSELL Probate Judge Baldwin County Foley, AL https://milestones.marquiswhoswho. com/milestone/ralph-russell/ How have you navigated disruptions in your industry to remain a top professional? I just tried to be the best judge I could be and do what was fair based on the Constitution and our laws. What is the most important issue/challenge you are dealing with in your industry? Every day, there is another election issue. It saddens me to see what election officials have to go through. How do you feel your industry has changed/evolved? I think the judicial system is the slowest to change, which is the way it should be because it’s based on case law, experience, rules and the Constitution. What innovations or technologies do you feel will shape the future of your industry? The continued availability of information through electronic means is important to me. Along with that, though, is the responsibility of anyone to do proper research to be sure what they read is truthful and established in the law. HARRY H. KAZAKIAN President, Chief Executive Officer USA Express Legal & Investigative Services Inc. Woodland Hills, CA https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=DVB7h1GRnHI What are two key behaviors/ personality traits that allow you to be effective in your role? I stay focused, and I’m not afraid of hard work. My work is my passion. How do you feel your industry has changed/evolved? Technology has made our industry change. We now have remote meetings, trials and testifying depositions. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, we would go knock on people’s doors, and they would be receptive to speaking to us. After the pandemic, they fear answering the door and speaking to us. What excites you the most about your industry? Putting the puzzles together and finding out what happened in my clients’ cases. Then, I find out how those events could have been prevented and how to prevent them from happening in the future. WILLIAM L. MCBRIDE, PHD Arthur G. Hansen Distinguished Professor Purdue University Lafayette, IN cla.purdue.edu/directory/profiles/william-mcbride.html What innovations or technologies do you feel will shape the future of your industry? There is a rising interest in artificial intelligence, although there are not that many philosophers who are experts on this topic yet. People are getting involved in the ethics of AI and what it says about the future of humanity. What excites you the most about your industry? Philosophy is one of the most important humanities, and it is holding out against reductionist tendencies in the United States. Here at Purdue University, they have established a cornerstone program, which essentially brings in the best students, especially first years who are interested in the humanities, and it has been quite successful.
