Seventh Edition Marquis Who’s Who INSIGHT 25 DAN SHETLER President, Owner Mifflintown Equipment Rental, LLC Mifflintown, PA https://www.mifflintownrental.com/ How have you navigated disruptions in your industry to remain a top professional? I have to give credit to whom it’s due; nobody ever did this alone. I have good employees, and I surround myself with people of integrity. My employees are born-again Christians; they have the same values, so as a team, we navigate the challenges that face us. Treating people with honor, respect and kindness, and offering them what’s promised, is the best policy. What excites you the most about your industry? It’s not just about money – it’s about service to the community and building relationships. After I’m gone, the young men running the company for me will go down the same path. I can leave for a month and return, but nothing is upside-down. DULCE M. SUAREZ-RESNICK VP of Sales & Marketing Acentria Insurance Miami, FL marquismillennium.com/5thEd/ Suarez-Resnick/193/ What are two key behaviors/ personality traits that a low you to be effective in your role? My desire to help others and my nature as a teacher. I have consultative talks with my customers, so we can understand their needs and the products they buy. What is the most important issue/challenge you are dealing with in your industry? The challenge right now – primarily in Florida – is market availability and affordability. How do you feel your industry has changed/evolved? In the past, customers would trust insurance agents, but now, with so many cases of insurance fraud, they expect agents to inflate or exaggerate costs. Honest agents are paying for the wrongful actions of others, which is frustrating. JEANNE M. VICTOR Executive Director New York City Equal Employment Practices Commission Moorestown, NJ https://www.linkedin.com/in/ jeanne-victor-2853888a/ What are two key behaviors/ personality traits that allow you to be effective in your role? We should be good listeners to understand where people are coming from. Then, you consider how the rules, regulations or laws might apply. How do you feel your industry has changed/evolved? Fifty years ago, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) was in its infancy. Once EEO and affirmative action hit their peak, it made a difference in how women and people of color were treated. As the program matured, so did the country. What innovations or technologies do you feel will shape the future of your industry? Artificial intelligence (AI) will play a huge role in that there are jobs that AI will definitely take over. Many of the jobs that will be susceptible to AI are currently being performed by women and people of color.
