I think out of the box and embrace change. In today’s fast-paced world, disruptions are the new normal; I embrace change and uncertainty as an opportunity for growth and innovation. What innovations or technologies do you feel will shape the future of your industry? As a philanthropist and mental health advocate, I’m elated about greater research being done on brain illnesses and stigma. We’re not alone, and everyone is discussing mental health, which is my mission. We see sophisticated technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality as effective tools to support holistic health care and access to stigma-free and affordable mental health intervention. IVONNE M. WOJTOWICZ Construction Project Manager Veolia Howell, NJ https://marquistopengineers. com/2024/04/10/ivonne-wojtowicz/ How have you navigated disruptions in your industry to remain a top professional? I’ve been fortunate to have the support of people who champion me. I often needed to work with people who didn't share my vision or respect my directives – I had to build rapport with them. Despite challenges, I persevered and quickly built sustainable relationships, earning a reputation for success, hard work and dedication. Most people who meet me read about my successful contributions, making navigating the highs and lows easier. What excites you the most about your industry? I'm intrigued by numbers, problem-solving and navigating systems to improve customer relationships. My goal has always been to ensure our improvements exceed expectations and provide high customer satisfaction. SHERRY P. YOUNG Autism In Class Support (ICS) Coach Alief Independent School District Houston, TX https://whoswhonewsletters. com/2024/07/11/sherry-young/ What are two key behaviors/ personality traits that allow you to be effective in your role? Always be positive and upbeat for the kids and caring and sympathetic toward their home environment. What is the most important issue/challenge you are dealing with in your industry? Poverty. Everything I have worked on during my past years of teaching is Title I. The kids come to school hungry, not sleeping on beds, tired, without supplies, without books at home to read, or without prior knowledge of vocabulary and knowledge of basic items of the world. Getting them caught up to par with other kids who have the skillset is a challenge. You're not just teaching the state TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) – you're teaching so much more than that.
