What are two key behaviors/personality traits that allow you to be effective in your role? I have compassion and I care. This serves me well as a hospice volunteer, poet, writer and activist. I have the gift of a social work background. I bringmy MSW intomy work in the community and world. I am co-authoring an anthology on grief and loss, known as the “Bereavement Poetry Project.” Compassion is so important to every aspect of this book. Passion is something I bring to my writing with Letters to the Editor for the Miami Herald and South Florida Sun Sentinel. I have published letters on various topics, including gun violence prevention, grief and loss, music, child migrants, political themes, COVID-19, and baseball. I bring passion into my advocacy as a volunteer on political campaigns, and I canvass and write letters for candidates I believe in. Passion is a part of my work as an activist on social justice, environmental, animal welfare, wildlife, and human rights issues.
