Hosting his own private practice in adult, child and adolescent psychiatry since 1981, he also served the Medical College of Wisconsin as a professor from 1979 to 2020. An honorary staff member of Aurora Psychiatric Hospital since 1999, he has served as the founder and leader of the Milwaukee Group for the Advancement of Self- Psychology for nearly 30 years. Dr. Kalogjera is a founding fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy and a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He pursued formal education in his native Croatia at the University of Zagreb, where he earned an MD in 1970. Since that time, he interned at the prominent university and, upon relocating to the United States in 1971, completed a residency in psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Cincinnati. He is board certified in psychiatry and child psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc., and board certified in addiction medicine.
